Here come the second interview to the search industry players who will be gathering at London Islington this year for the annual and highly-anticipated SES London 2008 Conference and Expo (February 19-21).
After interviewing Piers Stobb, comScore’s VP Europe, today we introduce an email interview to Kevin Ryan, Vice President, Global Content Director at Search Engine Strategies and Search Engine Watch - and the man behind the organization of SES London 2008, as well as the International growth of the SES conference series worldwide.
Since SES now operates in multiple countries, what are the ways in which Search Engine Strategies is engaging the local search communities in those respective countries? Does each country present its own unique challenges, culturally or otherwise?
Each country does indeed present its own challenges. We are engaging the local communities with respect to industry organizations, local SEO professionals and meeting with leading brands in each country and region within these countries.
How would you describe the growth of SES in Europe ? How is it evolving?
My focus with SES around the world lies in creating events that are distinctly local in nature. We have a large number of constituents and advisors working with us to make sure we are meeting the needs of delegates in each location.
This year there are more US speakers than ever at SES London - is the US search market starting paying attention to the European market?
There are a surprising number of speakers from the United Kingdom in New York this year as well! Search is a global activity and we strive to achieve balance in International events.
While there is a great demand for US speakers, we pay particular attention to local talent in each area and strive to represent them. I am very pleased to be working with Mike Grehan in the UK and we have put together a great event with speakers from all over the world!
What are your expectations for this year's SES London show?
We expect the London event to continue growing and judging by the buzz and number of registrations, I believe we have achieved our goal.
SES verticals, SES training... do you have some anticipation on the next developments of SES?
I certainly do... stay tuned for expansion and partnership announcements coming soon!
