News and impressions from the world of web and internet marketing

My experience at the SMX Madrid

Carlos Chacon | | Argentina | Chile | Colombia | Costa Rica | Mexico | South America | Spain

The first day, Danny Sullivan opened the session with a “Q&A” from Tomy and Rafa (from OME events). At the same time, they make public the publication of Search Engine Land but in Spanish.

Danny explains a little about how to get inbound links and the relation with the Social Media Optimization (SMO) even when the “no-follow” attribute is on the link.

He referred about the Universal Search of Google and how this could be an opportunity to any search marketer to improve techniques and get listed always on the TOP 10.

On the other hand, Rand Fishkin talked about the algorithm and how a “real” SEO should know when things happens having a “six sense”. Spoke about the main factors the search engines take care and how they interact on the SEPR’s.

Both of this “masters” explain about how the algorithm is changing specially with the “Universal Search” on Google and how this is a reason to learn more about SMO and the impact on the search listing results.

In general the event was a great opportunity not to learn “new stuff” but to do SMO. There’s a report of 5 sessions including 2 workshops of the event here.

We have a SEMPO meeting and Ismael El-Qudsi is now the CEO of SEMPO Spain. Congrats!!!
