The number of access to video sharing web sites grew 216% in Japan in 2007 from the previous year. According to Video Research Interactive (VRI), there were more than 24 million accesses to video sharing web sites in 2007. The data also shows that in addition to number of accesses, average number of page views and average time spent at video sharing sites were also increased.
VRI's research was done against a total of 28 video sharing sites. Currently, YouTube and NicoNico Douga are the most popular video sharing sites in Japan.
